So? Who wrote what?

In response to the overwhelming response to our attempt at breaking the world record for the largest collaborative songwriting effort ever to be professionally published-
Follow the link below to see what star wrote a word or a line in our historic song.

Titled "The Cure", the song- arranged and recorded by mega-hit writer Monty Powell less than 24 hours after the lines were written on the 2006 CMA Awards "Red Carpet" - will help raise money for Cancer research through the T.J. Martell Foundation.
Again (see previous entry), the original lyric book is personally autographed by each of the participating writers next to their handwritten word or words.
The book will auctioned off at the 13th annual "Country in the Rockies" in Steamboat Springs, Colorado January 26th-30th
(citr.org for more information).

This song is published through Universal Music Publishing and is protected by copyright.

Record Breaking Music History!!! maybe

KENNY CHESNEY, BRAD PAISLEY, CARRIE UNDERWOOD AMONG 60 MUSIC ARTISTS AND SONGWRITERS COLLABORATING ON THE CMA "RED CARPET" HELPING TO FIND A CURE FOR CANCER

In an effort to break the "Guinness Book of World Records" for the largest songwriting collaboration on a Country tune, GAC's "Country Music Across America" host Storme Warren and mega-hit writer Monty Powell (Keith Urban's "Days Go By" and "Tonight I Want to Cry") recruited over 60 stars on the CMA's 40th anniversary red carpet and backstage press room to write a completely original song one line at a time.

In just over two hours, the lyrics fell into place like a light bulb shattering on concrete.
"It's interesting, to say the least" said warren.

Artists like Kenny Chesney, Randy Owen, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood treated the task seriously, while others like Billy Ray Cyrus and Rascal Flatts took a more tongue in cheek approach.

As for the song's general theme? Monty, the man responsible for arranging and creating the melody for the monstrosity replied:
"There isn't one! It's like freakin' herding cats!"

None the less, Monty finished the song and recorded the demo less than 20 hours after the final award was handed out, stunning those in attendance including T.J. Martell Nashville Chapter head Laura Heatherly, Country Weekly Magazine and a small handful of singer songwriters eager to hear the result of the history making endeavor.

Brad Paisley provided the final line that helped define the purpose of the song, "someday we will find a cure".

All proceeds from the upcoming auction of the autographed, individually handwritten lyric book will benefit the T.J. Martell foundation for cancer research. The auction will take place at the 13th annual Country in the Rockies event at the end of January.

LeAnn Rimes has voiced extreme interest in recording the song. Martina McBride offered her vocal talents as well.

Asked if they actually broke the record, Warren responded, "I guarantee we broke something!" He then added, "When you hear what Monty was able to do with this collection of seemingly disassociated lyrics, you will be blown away."

Monty summarized the experience, "This is the most creative thing I've been a part of in a long, long time."

Other artists involved in writing words or lines to the song include:
Brad Paisley, Mel Tillis, Montgomery Gentry, Van Zant, Eric Church, Chris Young, Jack Ingram, Danielle Peck, Lynn Anderson, LeAnn Rimes, Heart, Billy Dean, Lonestar, Lorrie Morgan, Clay Walker, Bill Anderson, Jamey Johnson, Tracy Lawrence, Craig Wiseman, Billy Currington, Mylie Cyrus, Katrina Elam, Rockie Lynne, Ty Herndon, and many more.

Tune into GAC's "Country Music Across America" on November 16th at 8pm eastern to see the creation of this philanthropic "masterpiece".

Congrats to Paula Barreto!

She was the first eagle eyed viewer to spot the mistake in our show.
A brand, spanking new CMAA hat is on its way to her mailbox.

What was the mistake?
I'm not telling. You'll have to find it yourself.
:)

Happy watching!

Hey kids! Here's some fun!

Try and find the mistake in our show that debuts tonight (9pm et).
I hate when I screw up the simple facts. But sometimes my mouth works faster than my brain.

First one with the right answer gets a brand new Country Music Across America Hat.

Might as well turn stupidity into someone else's reward, right?

Happy watching!
Storme
